ATAS Introduces Lineair Ceiling Systems

March 5, 2024

Long known for their vast array of profiles for metal wall cladding and roofing, ATAS has now expanded their product offering for ceiling applications.  Metal ceiling systems offer a multitude of benefits:  they are lightweight, contain recycled content, are 100% recyclable after their long service life, require little maintenance, and are available in many colors, including wood grain print coats and embossing.  The panels in the new Lineair series can also be microperforated with or without factory applied Soundtex insulation, for acoustical purposes. All products in the Lineair Ceiling series are manufactured in over 40 stock 70% PVDF colors, with custom colors and finishes available.

ATAS has been manufacturing their Linear Ceiling™ panel system for decades, which is now included in the new Lineair series.  The Lineair Linear Ceiling panels are available in either a round edge or box style profile.  The round edge profile is available in three widths in the dimensions of 4”, 6”, or 8” (coverage with filler strips).  The box style profile is available in four widths in the dimensions of 2”, 4”, 6”, or 8” (coverage with filler strips).  They are manufactured in .032 aluminum with optional recessed or flush filler strips, with a panel height of 5/8”.   Lineair Linear Ceiling panels are also available in .019 aluminum in the
Bone White color with a 70% PVDF finish.

The Opaline™ panels have long been manufactured by ATAS and were traditionally used as a concealed fastened wall panel.  Lineair Opaline ceiling panels have now been introduced as an alternative use of this profile.  Lineair Opaline is a premium and flexible panel that can be snapped into a suspension carrier to create a complete system, or mechanically attached to most standard substrates. The Opaline system is available in four distinct profiles: OPF, OPM, OPN, OPW, ranging in panel coverage from 4” to 8”, with a panel height of 3/4”, and are manufactured in .032 and .040 aluminum, and in 24-gauge metallic coated steel.

ATAS has introduced several new profiles in the specialty ceiling category.  A beam and baffle ceiling system with Lineair Plank panels, is suspended vertically in commercial spaces.  Their unique appearance creates visually appealing aesthetics for ceilings.  They can redirect sound to the space above the panels, helping to control unwanted acoustical issues.  The aluminum panels are manufactured in .032, .040, .050, and .063 aluminum. For panel sizes, inquire for panel coverage availability.

Lineair Torsion Spring System panels are manufactured in aluminum, ranging from .032 up to .080 in thickness.  Torsion spring clips engage a punched standard 15/16” T-bar grid suspension, creating a narrow reveal, concealed suspension, downwardly point accessible system.  These panels are available in two standard square profiles, 24” x 24” and 36” x 36” grid patterns, and in two standard rectangular profiles, 12” x 48” and 24” x 48” grid patterns.

Lineair Suspended Edge panels are available in standard and radiused trim sizes.  The aluminum panels are manufactured from .032 up to .080 in thickness.  Standard trim face sizes are 2”, 4”, 6”, or 8”.  Custom sizes in 1” increments are available up to 24”.  The standard length is 12’-0” for straight sections.

Available in .032 up to .080 aluminum, Lineair Metal Lay-In System panels come in four standard sizes. Those include two square configurations of 24” x 24” and 36” x 36″ grid patterns and two rectangular configurations of 12” x 48” and 24” x 48” grid patterns.  These lay-in metal panels allow easy access to the area above the suspended ceiling grid.

Lineair Lift and Shift panels are like the Lineair Metal Panel Lay-In System, however these hook on to the suspended ceiling grid, versus just laying into the grid.  The aluminum panels are available in .032 up to .080 thickness.  These panels are available in two standard square profiles, 24” x 24” and 36” x 36”, and in two standard rectangular profiles, 12” x 48” and 24” x 48”.

Kevin Cox, ATAS’ Director of Interior Business Development, stated, “As we are seeing an increased amount of metal being used in interior applications, for both ceilings and walls, it made sense to expand our ceiling system offering.  The Lineair Series brand name of ceilings products was chosen as a nod to our founders’ Dutch heritage (Lineair is Dutch for Linear), and as well, it’s a perfect product descriptor, as our ceiling systems are actually creating lines in the air.”
