ATAS International Participates in Panel Discussion at CSI Master Specifiers Retreat

March 6, 2018

ATAS International, Inc. participated in the recent Construction Specifications Institute’s (CSI) Master Specifier Retreat in Amelia Island, Florida.

CSI’s Master Specifiers Retreat is an exclusive event that brings together senior specifiers and product selection influencers from across the country for an intimate experience of focused education, group networking, and one-on-one meetings with building product manufacturer executives. As the authority on specifying, CSI is able to offer unique, advanced education and discussion that meets the needs of experienced specifiers.

As part of the event, Jim Bush, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for ATAS, was one of three building envelope product experts that spoke during the keynote session titled “How Critical are Building Envelopes?”.  The other panelists were Theresa Weston, Ph.D., Senior Research Fellow at DuPont Protective Solutions, and Jonathan Ram, CDT, CTR, Regional Specifications Manager at ROCKWOOL.  The panel discussion focused on why there have been so many changes and requirements in the building industry concerning building envelopes.  It was noted during the session that building envelope consultants are becoming more valuable for their expertise and may also perform building envelope commissioning.  The discussion was moderated by Ron Geren, current CSI Board Chair, and Principal of RLGA Technical Services, LLC.

Bush stated, “As a Platinum level CSI Corporate Partner, ATAS is pleased to participate in events such as this.  Regarding the panel discussion, it is important to continue to share information regarding building envelope assemblies.  Collaboration between all parties involved in the design and construction of commercial buildings is critical toward improving the end result.  The different trades involved in product installation need to understand how components interface; continued education and training is key for positive results.”
