At the recent ATAS International employee appreciation and awards dinner, David Willard, CSI, CDT®, and John Fenstermacher, CDT®, were announced as the recipients of the annual Malan S. Parker Award, which recognizes the top sales team each year. Malan S. “Steve” Parker was an exemplary ATAS product representative in the New England territory, and he passed away in 2002. Since then, to honor his hard work and dedication to ATAS, the sales team of the year award is now known as the Malan S. Parker Award.
Willard is the product representative for upstate New York, and it’s the first year that he has won this award. He joined ATAS in 2017 and was previously a sales manager for a foundation support construction company. Willard has an associate degree from Erie Community College and is a member of the Buffalo-Western New York Chapter of the Construction Specifications Institute (CSI). He earned the CSI Construction Documents Technologist (CDT®) certification in 2019 and is certified in metal roof installation from the Metal Construction Association (MCA).
Fenstermacher is the inside technical salesperson for the territory. He joined ATAS in 2013 and has over 21 years of industry experience. Fenstermacher has also held the positions of Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) technical sales, sales for BRIGHTSMITH Coaters (a sister company of ATAS), and was the director of dealer development for the Accel division (residential metal roofing), prior to his current position. He earned the CSI CDT® certification in 2014.
Willard and Fenstermacher were chosen as this year’s winners for their teamwork in overall sales growth and observance of corporate goals and objectives. They obtained the highest level of sales in a year for the upstate New York territory, substantially grew fabricated product sales from the previous year and had the highest growth in insulated metal panel sales from the previous year. Fenstermacher’s support of Willard and their customers within the region was instrumental to the growth realized in that area.

We have been in the upstate New York market for 57 years and as the market constantly changes, they were able to adapt their selling strategies utilizing our vast product offering. We would not be where we are today without our customers and employees like Dave and John.”
