Loading of Trucks at ATAS

Loading-Trucks-(1).jpgATAS uses the various truck options that are available for the most effective delivery. To ensure the materials are delivered in a timely and flawless manner, ATAS employees take into account many considerations when loading these trucks.

Truck Types Utilized by ATAS:
  • ATAS Fleet
    • Flat bed tractor trailers
    • Stake bodies
  • Dedicated Common Carrier
    • Flat bed tractor trailer
  • LTL (less than truckload) Common Carrier
    • Typically box truck
  • Customer Pick Ups
    • Various types of vehicles
Product Layout on ATAS Trailer:
  • To the best extent possible, the trucks are loaded by stop so that material not unloading at a particular stop will not need to be removed
  • Loaded last stop to first stop in sequence
  • Bottom to top
  • Front to back of trailer
Typical Loading Considerations:
  • Weight of Load
    • 45,000 # maximum
    • 80,000 # gross vehicle weight
  • Cube of Load
    • Overall volume of space that will be required
  • Weight Distribution
  • Product Types
    • Coil, sheet, panel, trims , or a mix of all
  • Length of Product
    • Typically 48’ truck bed with a 4’ overhang allowed
