Dick Bus Begins Term as New Director for the NRCA

May 29, 2018

As of June 1st, Dick Bus, President of ATAS International, Inc., will begin serving a three-year term as a new director of the National Roofing Contractors Association (NRCA).  The NRCA is one of the construction industry’s most respected trade associations.  It is the voice of roofing professionals and a leading authority in the roofing industry for information, education, technology, and advocacy.

Bus is the current President of the Metal Roofing Alliance (MRA), and ATAS has been a member of the MRA since 1997. He is a former President of the Metal Construction Association (MCA) and remains heavily involved with the MCA, which is committed to advancing the metal construction industry.  Bus has also been a member of the Construction Specifications Institute (CSI) for over 30 years and understands the value of participation within the design and construction industry associations.

“Through my involvement with the MRA, MCA, CSI, and other organizations, I made many connections and gained significant industry knowledge.  I look forward to contributing to the NRCA as a new director, in the improvement and advancement of the roofing industry, as well as to learning from other board and association members”, said Bus.

Last year, ATAS joined NRCA’s One Voice initiative, upgrading its associate membership to “partner member”.  The One Voice initiative is aimed at collectively recognizing threats to the industry and the opportunities they may present.  As a manufacturer of metal cladding and roofing products, it was important to Bus that ATAS be involved in the initiative and its mission.  Initially, the One Voice initiative will focus on developing a national worker training and certification program, legislative efforts, and advocacy.
